Parties & Events Affected by Coronavirus Crisis

April 15, 2019

We have all been adjusting to working remotely, transitioning to online classes and starting homeschooling. We’re scheduling “visits” with family via Zoom and having “live” wine tastings and dance parties. Unfortunately, some things aren’t as adaptable to an internet platform, like climbing birthday parties.

Many events had to get put “on hold” during these “quarantimes”. However, once the stay home directives are lifted, aren’t we going to want to celebrate with our friends and family even more?? Consider postponing your events rather than cancelling! Many families are choosing to having a belated celebration once mandates are lifted.

Hosting a climbing birthday party this summer is going to be a breath of fresh air after lockdown. Between conquering the 35’ autobelay’s outside high over Virginia Street, playing “secret mission” in the warm up room (climbing over pool noodle“laser beams” and maneuvering through hoopla-hoop “portals”), and attempting to balance on our slackline, the BaseCamp staff works to create an unforgettable experience for the birthday girl or boy. This year, we believe that is exceptionally important for our youth.

Our BaseCamp parties are recommended for ages 5-12, but our staff can customize events for adults as well! E-mail BaseCampSales@whitneypeakhotel.com about booking your next memorable birthday experience!

Rates include: (2) hour party time slot, inclusive gear rentals, 1 party staff instructor

**Outdoor climbing is weather dependent**

$19/youth climber

$25/adult climber

$50 room rental for the duration of the party time slot

COVID-19 REOPENING: Policies & Procedures

While we are ecstatic and truly grateful to be able to re-open the gym on Monday, June 1st, we've worked hard to devise a plan to safely re-open, as protecting and serving our community has always been our number one priority here at Basecamp Climbing Gym. Please take the time to carefully read the new policies stated in this blog post, that will be implemented until further notice.

Stay Home Stay Sendy

Social distancing and self-quarantine are what is on everyone’s mind right now.... and yes, that may mean not only avoiding the gyms with their closures, but your favorite destination crags as well. Traveling and using resources outside of your local community can have high consequences during the COVID 19 pandemic. Many climbing destinations have limited medical services and one or two smaller amenity stores. Let's all consider the health and well beings of our climbing communities and the small towns that support our passions year round. Stay home to train, the rocks will be there when we get back!
